My name is Sian Davies-Alfonso and I am a portraits, figures and surrealist artist.
I am British and Singaporean by heritage, however I have spent most of my life travelling between the UK, where I attended both primary school and university, and Trinidad, where I attended secondary school. I've continued moving back and forth between these two countries ever since. These places form who I am and this is evident in my range of artwork, from the faces and figures I capture, the flora and fauna, to the patterns, textiles and symbols indigenous to each culture.
I primarily use pens, coloured pencils and watercolour paints to depict scenes that bring me joy and that make me think, but I also don't shy away from using my art to express pain. Recurring themes I explore are the ever evolving concepts of identity, home, womanhood, resilience and the many manifestations of love in our lives.
I find joy especially in life drawings and portraiture. Many of the original works shown here are available for sale. Prints are also available as a budget friendly way to bring art into your space. I am also open to commissions and collaborations. Feel free to get in touch either via e-mail, Instagram or with the contact form on this page.
